My name is Bob C. and I have been a member of Jim Toner’s Wealth Builders for little over a year now. When I first went through the training class back in November of 2008, Bill Kendall presented his Project Management service as an option for those new students that may not have the time and/or skill to perform this function themselves. Two years ago I was driving in my car, listening to a radio show about real estate investment in Pittsburgh. Midway through the show, I felt excited and turned the radio off. I decided right there to jump into this venture with both feet and pursue my dream. I enrolled in a seminar designed to teach new investors the “ins and outs” of real estate investing. At the conclusion of the seminar, we were provided the opportunity to choose a mentor. In my case, I chose Gary Wilson, one of several teachers who led the course. I chose Gary, not only because he was knowledgeable and experienced, but because I sensed he was a person of integrity. In all my dealings with him, he has proven himself to be that kind of person.
Gary has been instrumental in my success and has wisely guided me in all my real estate investment decisions. While waiting for the closing on my first property, a contractor told me I was making a big mistake...paying too much for a property in a location he questioned. I began to worry. After a couple days, I decided to stop worrying and put my trust in Gary. I purchased the house and began an extensive rehab. During the rehab, Gary gave me reliable answers for all my questions. Once the rehab was completed, he supplied advice on how to advertise and find a tenant, plus he provided all the lease forms I would need. A qualified family signed a lease within 2 weeks of putting it on the market. When I later applied for a mortgage, the bank appraisal for the house came in almost $15,000 more than the costs of the purchase and rehab...not bad for a total investment of $45,000. Gary has helped me with this same kind of sound advice on each of my 4 properties. I highly recommend Gary Wilson as a mentor/realtor for anyone considering investing in real estate.
